Serving at Cadi Community Center

Today is our last day at the Cadi community center.  Ron and Alana Greenwich have been extremely helpful hosts, and our interpreters (one of them, Larissa, is featured in our video here) have done an outstanding job.

I am quite proud of this team and all that God has done through them during their time of Kingdom service here in Florianopolis.

A Week at Palavra da Vida – Sul (Word of Life Camp)

Equipe (Camp Staff)

Impact 360 students and PV Sul staff worked side by side all week to further God’s kingdom.

Kitchen Staff

Members of “Koopa” spent many hours washing dishes and cleaning up after meals. The work was humbling and the relationships made with the other staff were rewarding.

Program Staff

Members of “Programma” were in charge of  the games, events, and adventures at the camp. One of their many responsibilities included filling 500 water balloons each morning!

Crazy Brazilian Fun!

Games at PV Sul were bigger, crazier, and more elaborate than any games we’d ever seen in the states. This wet, soapy, triple-inner tube race is just one of the many games we played during our week there.

Skype Date!

Late one night, our Porto Alegre team raced up the hill to the wifi-hotspot for a highly anticipated Skype date with team Florianopolis.

Rio Grande do Sul

PV Sul was surrounded by beautiful rolling hills and farmland typical of the landscape found in Brazil’s southern-most state, Rio Grande do Sul. It was the perfect setting for evening runs and morning photo shoots.

I am Second Testimony

Beth was one of the team members who got to share her testimony at one of the morning services. Her story connected with a lot of the campers, and God brought a lot of great conversations from her sharing.

Cardboard Testimonies

At one of the morning services, we all got the chance to share the stories of what God has done in our lives in just a few words through cardboard testimonies.

Refresh, Replenish, Refuel

The waterfall was a great place to get away and spend some much needed quiet time with the Lord.

Brothers in Christ

In just one week of living and serving together, God built relationships that went far deeper than we had anticipated. Jesse and Leo worked together all week and were able to teach and encourage each other in powerful ways.

The amazing things that God did this week are far more than could ever be posted on this one blog. But we hope you got a picture of some of what went on at our unforgettable week at Palvara da Vida – Sul.

Team Porto Alegre

God’s heart

Phil, Ed and I arrived in Florianopolis yesterday, somewhat wearied from travel but glad to see the team and hear the stories of what God has been doing. Today we have been encouraged to see the work that the Lord is doing in and through the team. Painting and general improvements on the Cadi community center have helped the staff here to connect with the people in more effective ways, and the team led afternoon vacation Bible school for kids ages 4-12.  I saw God’s heart

Kartwright at Cadi Community Center

for the children of Brazil today, and lives were changed in ways that are visible to us through skits, songs, and Bible stories. But lasting “heart change” will happen not because of what we have done but because of the Holy Spirit’s power (Zechariah 4:6).  Please continue your prayers for us! Tomorrow Phil and Ed fly out to join Team Porto Alegre.
